Obstacles are unexpected, never welcomed, and seem to come up at the most inconvenient times. (But then, who has ever had an impediment come up at the right time?)
A central key to dealing with them is ATTITUDE. For example, when you see a detour sign on your way to work, do you shrug your shoulders and return back home? Of course not! Any fitness guru or fitness expert will tell you that it is normal to grappling obstacles on the road to fitness, the key is that they must be visaged and overcome.
1. Realize that what may be an impediment for you may be nothing for another person, and vice versa. Is this impediment REALLY an obstacle, or are you CHOOSING to look at it that
way? If you are heading out late to work and the gym is about to close, this does not prevent you from sneaking in a quick burst of cardio exercise on the treadmill for 20 minutes.
2. Look at who and what’s in your corner with you.
Just like a professional boxer has a trainer, coach, and manager in the corner to keep him
going every round, so you have your own will power in your “corner.” Determine what kind of support and help you need and then look within.
3. Back off!
Remain cool and objective. If fear or intimidation is part of the obstacle, ask yourself, “What is the worst that can happen if I approach this task?”
4. What you would tell a friend if THEY were visaged with the same problem?
Sometimes it can be easier to tell someone else how to approach an impediment and get around it. Act as your own friend.
5. See yourself having conquered the obstacle. Then work your way back.
Visualize yourself having achieved your desired end result. Evaluate the tasks you did in order to overcome the problem. You will learn some surprising truths about yourself.
6. Don’t be shy. Ask for it!
Sometimes a direct request for help and support is all that’s necessary to get what you need to conquer the obstacle. “Hey, I’m working on getting through such-and-such. Would you help me out?” Simple as that. That mortal will then ask questions about how s/he can help you. You just tell him/her. Then go about destructive your obstacle.
7. Determine how you CAN do it.
If you think you can’t conquer your obstacles, there are reasons why you can. Think positive, not negative. Use this simple exercise: take a sheet of paper, and divide it into
two columns. Title one column “How I Can,” and the other “How I Can’t.” Draw a big X to fill the entire How I Can’t column - because that doesn’t matter. You’re not concerned with how you can’t conquer your obstacle. You’re concerned with how you CAN. Think of creative ways you can conquer the obstacles; for every “can’t” you think of, just write down in the “Can” column the direct opposite solution.
8. Use artful persuasion.
Make a good argument for why it’s of mutual benefit to the other party to lower or remove the impediment standing in the way. If given the rationale, people usually would rather please others than not.
9. One bite at a time.
Obstacles can be so overwhelming that you end up doing nothing about it except “take” it, every single day. Break it down into sub-conquers; what you’re doing here is getting started toward the eventual conquer. Have establishment in yourself, and take it one step at a time.
10. Forge ahead with unyielding determination.
By doing this, you will acquire the energy and momentum needed to knock down what gets in your way. Sometimes just “working through” works in overcoming obstacles. Always remember. Nothing can deter you from reaching your goals, unless you give permission to let this happen.

You’ve been working out like you’re on a mission. Or, so you think. But the excess weight isn’t “falling off” the way you like. It gets frustrating, and you dont know what you are doing wrong. Most people will just throw in the towel and accept defeat. Give up. Quit. Cry and whine that they’re not getting results from exercise.
But there is a solution. The effort you place forth is in direct relation to the results you get. A good effort WILL produce good results, as any fitness guru or fitness expert will attest to. If you aren’t meeting your goals, it’s time to check out these saboteurs (in and out of the gym) that could be the culprits.
1. What’s Going On Inside You?
Getting a leaner, energized, fit body is more than just exercise and intake well. Look at your past exercise history - is it streaky? Do you go hard, stop, go hard, and stop? Is it sporadic? Work out for a week or two, stop, etc.? So many people write themselves off as failures, before even starting. Oh, they may try, but that’s where the streakiness or sporadic workouts or intake habits happen. It has to do with your self-image. Your self-image dictates how your body moves. Self-defeat, poor body image, unrealistic expectations, demand of self acceptance and perfectionist tendencies will stop you dead in your tracks.
If you want to be consistent, dedicated, focused, energized, committed, leaner, psyched up, etc., you FIRST must WANT to be. In order to HAVE something, you must first BE something. That means changing your attitude, your self image. The results will come.
2. Wasted Sweat
Just because you jump up and down and lift a few weights here and there, even daily, doesn’t mean you’re going to get positive results. Diet and exercise is like a science. You experiment, record your results, analyze the results; see what you can do better for a more successful experiment. Do the experiment again. The process goes on and on. And all the while, you’re learning what works best for you. You may start out with a generic program, but from day to day your program gets finely tuned and more focused according to how YOUR body works.
3. Getting Lazy - The Infamous “Comfort Zone”
If you’ve been doing the same routine for weeks on end, and you’re pretty comfortable with it, you’re not challenging that body enough. I’ll go so far as to ask, “Why the heck are you even exercising, then?” If you want to get fit, you must move that body. Throw in some intervals with your aerobic training. Change your strength training routine every few weeks. Do a major overhaul - create an entirely different routine with exercises you haven’t done in a long time. Bike for a couple of weeks, then achievement for a couple. You can also use the ski organisation or elliptical trainer for a few weeks to mix things up. You eliminate boredom, too.
4. Going Half-Speed
Small effort, small results. Give your training, nutrition, and your life all you’ve got. Your body and your life will give you back everything they have. No shortcuts, sorry. There is illusion - and it’s YOU. It’s about how badly you want it, what you’re willing to do, how you’re going to live your life, to get it, overcoming obstacles. Keep firmly planted in your mind that you are greater than anything that can happen to you. If the program isn’t working, neither are you. That doesn’t mean you’re not working out hard. It could mean that you’re not intake properly, your self-image is lacking, you’re not getting sleep, and a slew of other very important factors that affect positive results. You need to take a look at the whole picture. Then keep going after it with abandon.
5. You’re In A Hurry For… What?
It took time for your body to get where it’s at now. It’s not going to come off tonight, tomorrow, or next week. You KNOW that. But yet we continue to think that you can just unzip your unfit body and out steps an incredible body immediately. The results will come. If they don’t come at the speed you want, then it’s time to rethink the timeline. It’s important to stay focused on your goals. It’s just that the methods and time to get there will change. And they will change often. This is a science; it has to work. And it does work.

Colloidal trace minerals are just as important to our health and well being as vitamins. Practically since birth we have had it pounded into us that we must take our vitamins if we are to be healthy. The fact is that vitamins are of little use to you without minerals which are as essential for your metabolism as any vitamin is.

Take blood clotting: vitamin K is the blood clotting vitamin, but blood will not clot without calcium.
How is energy generated in your body from the carbohydrates and sugars that you eat? They are converted to glucose that is converted to energy in every cell in your body and used in-situ. However, if metal and selenium are known to be essential, how many of the other seventy or so trace minerals are also essential to human health?
The trace minerals in general are believed to protect us from some degenerative conditions, the effects of environmental pollution and help to protect us from the effects of an excessive intake of toxic minerals. Although there have been insufficient studies carried out on most trace minerals, it is known that they should be taken in chelated form, metallic in nature or not.
It is also known that such minerals should be taken as a balanced mixture as found in nature. A bullet approach, using an individual mineral to treat a certain condition, could lead to an imbalance in the body, and severe side effects, some of which might not yet be known. The substances appear to have similar therapeutic characteristics to unsaturated essential fatty acids, but with a stronger and more long lasting effect. It also appears to work in three distinctly different ways in that it acts as a joint lubricant, supports the immune system and functions in the same way as essential fatty acids.
Arthritis is a disease that has reached epidemic proportions worldwide, and it is estimated that more than 50 million Americans are affected by it. Until recently it was believed to be a disease of the aged, or associated with physical injury, but is now known to be more complex than that, with many manifestations and causes. However, it was not always known, and a search in the textbooks for cetyl myristoleate prior to 1977 would have yielded nothing. Why 1977? It started with Harry W Diehl, a sugar chemist with an interest in the treatment of arthritis. While carrying out research on arthritis in mice, he was working on thin layer chromatographic analysis of a methylene chloride extract of macerated mice. He noticed a separation that was unknown to him, which was subsequently identified as cetyl myristoleate.
He had been unable to induce arthritis in mice, and believed that if he found out how to do that, then he should also be healthy to establish what prefabricated the mice immune to the disease, and so establish a cure. He soon established that it was this cetyl myristoleate circulating in the blood that fortified the mice, and then found a way of synthesizing it in the work by esterifying myristoleic acid.
Since the compound was unknown at that time Diehl patented it in 1977, hence the date. Apart from in mice, it has subsequently been found only in whale oil and in one of the glands of the male beaver, with no other known sources at the time of writing. There have been several studies that have supported the effect of cetyl myristoleate on arthritis, the first human study being in 1995 when 46 out of 48 arthritis patients showed significant improvement in articular mobility and reduction in pain. Others since have demonstrated similar results.
So how does it work? What is the mechanism by which this hitherto unknown substance helps to relieve the symptoms of osteo and rheumatoid arthritis? Being a fatty acid ester, cetyl myristoleate possesses lubricant properties, and one of its properties is to supplement the synovial fluid that lubricates the joints and tendons. This helps to keep the joints moving freely, and reduces their tendency to grind when the connective tissue wears. It also lubricates entire muscle groups, allowing them to slide over apiece other more freely, and also over bones allowing a smoother movement of the joints.
The second way, in which it operates, by supporting the immune system, is particularly appropriate to the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis which is caused by the immune system attacking the bodys own joint and connective tissue. In this respect, cetyl myristoleate has also been found effective in treating other immune system conditions such as multiple sclerosis and lupus erythematosus.
Finally, it also possesses the mediation effect on the inflammatory reaction possessed by other essential fatty acids. This helps to reduce the effect of inflammation that causes much of the swelling and pain of arthritic conditions, although it occurs much faster than with other fatty acids. When taken together, all of these effects have a powerful effect in reducing the unpleasant symptoms of both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Swelling is reduced, mobility is improved and pain is alleviated. Improvements have been reported by sufferers of both types of arthritis, and in fact it is reported that Harry Diehl successfully treated his own arthritis with the substance before any other human tests had been carried out.
Cetyl Myristoleate is now used word-wide in significant quantities, and there have as yet been no confirmed reports of adverse side effects. However, as with many otherwise innocuous supplements, it is recommended not to be taken by pregnant or lactating women until it has been evidenced to definitely have no side effects on the fetus or young babies.
Although there is no definitive scientific evidence of the effectiveness of the substance in relieving the symptoms of arthritis, there is an overwhelming body of evidence from those that have used it world wide. The accepted treatment is by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and with over 16,0000 NSAID-related deaths in the USA alone apiece year, cetyl myristoleate is certainly worth considering as an alternative for arthritis sufferers.
